Kazakhstan Women’s Taekwondo (WT) Team to Compete at the Women’s Open World Taekwondo Championships

The Women’s Open World Taekwondo Championships (WT) will take place from 28 to 30 August in Taiyuan, China.

Nine athletes from the Kazakhstan national team will represent the country at the tournament:

• Aidana Kumartayeva (-46 kg)

• Nurai Bauyrzhanova (-49 kg)

• Maria Sevostyanova (-57 kg)

• Aisha Adilbekkyzy (-62 kg)

• Aruzhan Naimanbayeva (-67 kg)

• Adel Zhandildinova (-49 kg)

• Nurai Khussainova (-73 kg)

• Zhanel Sultangaliyeva (-46 kg)

• Togzhan Omirzak (-46 kg)

A total of 391 athletes from 58 countries, along with the World Taekwondo Refugee Team, have registered for the tournament. Medals will be contested across eight weight categories: -46, -49, -53, -57, -62, -67, -73 and +73 kg.

This year’s championships will feature some of the world’s leading taekwondo athletes, including Olympic and World champions. Among them are Paris 2024 Olympic champions Viviana Marton and Woohyeon Kim, as well as World champions Luana Marton, Sarah Chaari, Nafia Khuush Aydin and Emine Gögebakan.
